Visas

All visitors to Ethiopia require visas. The only exceptions are nationals from Djibouti and Kenya and travellers who arrive in Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to catch a connecting flight.

Effective June 1, 2018, the Main Department for Immigration and Nationality Affair, in collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines, rolled out its e-visa service to all international visitors to Ethiopia. Therefore, all applicants are urged to apply for their visas online, exclusively at evisa.gov.et
Until further notice, the Embassy will only be processing Diplomatic and service Visas only.

The Government of Ethiopia is implementing fundamental economic and political reforms to promote sustainable economic growth and foster a robust democratic system in the county. These reforms create valuable opportunities for foreign investors to engage in Ethiopia’s growing economy. The Embassy actively collaborates with partners at all levels to advance trade, investment, tourism, and development cooperation.

We also recognize the essential role the Ethiopian diaspora plays in the country’s development and democratization efforts.
