Ethiopian Passport
If you wish to apply, renew or replace your Ethiopian passport, please read the following information carefully.
Important information:
Please note that passport applications can no longer be submitted in person at the Embassy. All applications must be made online via the Digital INVEA website: www.digitalinvea.com.
We, therefore, recommend all prospective customers to visit www.digitalinvea.com for access to passport services (replace, renewals and new applications for kids), which are no longer being offered at the Embassy.

Services provided by the consular department
We advise you to bring complete documents and sufficient copies of documents when you visit the Ethiopian Embassy in Berlin’s consular service.

1. Undocumented
- When filling out the form given to you, fill in the names and phone numbers of at least two immediate family members and your phone number in this country;
a copy of the most recent resident permit;

• Completing a passport form to facilitate submission when you are allowed to withdraw your passport from immigration;

2. I want the passport they already had.
Filling out the form given to you;

3. Those who have changed their name, age, and place of birth and are applying for an Ethiopian passport
- Change of name in court
• The name change document must be certified by a foreign affairs official;
• filling out and signing the passport form in Amharic and English;
• a copy of your previous passport
• a photo of two gourds with two ears clearly visible and a white back;
• a copy of the residence permit;
• 343 euros - Passport copy request form.
- Fingerprint form.
- Those who have changed their birth date or location
• A birth certificate in which the place of birth and date of birth have been changed, verified by foreign affairs;
• a copy of your previous passport
• filling out and signing the passport form in Amharic and English;
• a photo of two gourds with two ears clearly visible and a white back;
• A copy of your residence permit

4. New passport request for children:
- fill out the form in Amharic and English, and mother or father sign it;
- a copy of the father’s or mother’s Ethiopian passport that has not expired;
- a written application confirming that the mother or father is willing for their child to receive an Ethiopian passport;
- the child’s birth certificate is translated and certified by a notary and the Landgericht (district court) and certified by the embassy for a fee;
- two photos with two ears clearly visible and a white back; a copy of the residence permit of the mother/father and child;
